The Botany Downs Mentoring Programme

 
This programme has the Teacher as mentor working with groups of students and individual students. 
 

Mentoring provides opportunities for:

 

  • Goal setting and review

  • Support and guidance from a trusted adult
  • Leadership skills to be developed
  • Engagement in activities that promote learning capacity such as critical thinking 
  • Outside speakers and facilitators to engage with groups of students
  • Practical life skills to be taught such as job seeking, obtaining a drivers licence and banking.
  • Students to engage in discussions about ethics and values
