APPLICATION FORM
Applications close Thursday 6 October 2011. Hand your form (only the last page of the application document above) to the Sports Coordinators Office.
Vision
- To give Botany Downs Secondary College Students the opportunity to a leadership role and develop a sporting culture of EXCELLENCE within the school.
Key Points
- A selected group of 10 – 12 students who are in Year 12 or 13
- Representation from each Whanau
- Work closely with sports coordinators on key events throughout the year, such as –
- Co-curricular Launch Assembly
- Athletic Sports
- Swimming Sports
- Cross Country
- Sports Awards Dinner
- Picnic Day
- For each student to adopt and promote a sporting code (eg Netball, football, basketball) within the school.
- Liaise with Sports Coordinators and Whanau leaders to develop Inter Whanau sport within the school.
- To lead their Whanau sports committee in the promotion of sport within the Whanau / School
Selection
- Students who wish to be on the Student Sports Council will also be members of their Whanau sports committee.
- Students fill in a Nomination Form
- Nominees must have their application endorsed by their Whanau leader
- Sports Coordinators in consultation with Whanau Leaders and Senior Leadership Team select 12 students and offer a place on the Student Sports Council
